The book "The ECHR and Health - Through the Opinions of Judge Paulo Pinto de Albuquerque" is now available for purchase. The book was organized by our Integrated Researcher, Professor Inês Fernandes Godinho and André Dias Pereira. Several researchers from CEAD Francisco Suárez contributed to this book. They are Professor Rui Cascão, Professor Ana Guerra, Professor Ana Isa Meireles, Professor Lígia Carvalho Abreu, Professor Alexandra Vilela, Professor Diana Coutinho, and Professor Inês Fernandes Godinho.

Regulation (EU) 2023/1114 on markets in cryptoassets (MiCA) seeks to respond to (i) the lack of a European Union regulatory framework for cryptoassets that do not qualify as financial instruments; (ii) the notorious lack of trust among users in the cryptoactive market; and (iii) the lack of legal security for companies that provide services related to cryptoactives.

The 8th University Handbook from Edições Lusófonas, "Roman, Peninsular and Portuguese Legal History" by Professor Rui Albuquerque, is now available for purchase at the Lusófona Store.

This book is the result of several years of teaching these subjects at Lusófona University in Porto, as part of the first-year law degree program. It follows a previous publication from 2022, which covered only the curriculum of the second semester, focusing mainly on the historical evolution of Peninsular and Portuguese Law. The current edition includes the entire content of both first and second-semester courses, including Roman Law, which was missing from the initial version.

The book “Portugal and the Lusophone World” was published, which included three Integrated Researchers from CEAD Francisco Suárez as editors, Professor Paulo Duarte, Professor Rui Albuquerque and Professor António Tavares.

The book by Professor Alexandra Vilela, PhD, is now available at the Lusófona Bookshop: O Direito de MERA ORDENAÇÃO SOCIAL: between the idea of the “recurrence” and the “erosion” of Classical Criminal Law.

Alexandra Vilela is PhD in Law and Associate Professor at Universidade Lusófona do Porto, having been Director of the then Faculty of Law between November 2011 and December 2014, where she teaches in the area of Criminal Law. She is also Director of the Master’s in Legal-Criminal Sciences at that Faculty and a lecturer at the ULHT Faculty of Law.

She has a PhD from the University of Coimbra, has published various articles, both in magazines and books, and has given lectures in Portugal and abroad and taken part in post-graduate courses on her teaching and research areas.

She is a member of the editorial board of the journal “Anatomia do Crime” and of the editorial board of the “Revista de Direito da Universidade Lusófona do Porto”, of which she was the director.

She has written articles in Legal Journals and Book Chapters.
