CA23129 - Peace Research Community Europe (PEACE)

The world is currently facing several significant challenges to peace and security. Violent conflicts and the number of associated victims have doubled over the past decade. Building peace, reducing insecurity, and preventing violent conflict requires us to fundamentally rethink the concept of peace. That is why this COST Action “PEACE” brings together a transnational, interdisciplinary European research community, expanding and strengthening a network of centres and researchers in the field of peace and conflict studies across Europe.

The main challenge is to improve our understanding of current challenges to peace and security on the European continent and beyond, thereby inspiring new approaches to research, public policy, and practice. The focus areas will be Peace and Climate, Feminist Peace, Peace and Emerging Technologies, Local Peace, and a new Architecture of Peace and Security in Europe.

In addition, the network will support a new generation of peace and conflict researchers in developing their careers.

This COST Action includes the participation of Maria do Rosário Anjos, Integrated Researcher at CEAD Francisco Suárez.
