On November 22 and 23, the 27th National Congress of the Portuguese Medical Association took place, focusing on the main theme of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The event was held in the Auditorium of the Rectorate of the Nova University of Lisbon, on the Campolide Campus, and brought together doctors from across the country to reflect on the future of medicine and the impact of technology on healthcare systems.
A notable highlight was the participation of CEAD Francisco Suárez's Integrated Researcher, Prof. Dr. Inês Fernandes Godinho. Her presentation provided an in-depth perspective on the ethical and legal challenges of using AI in medical practice, emphasizing the need to balance technological innovation with the protection of fundamental values such as human dignity and justice in healthcare.
