De Legibus, the peer-reviewed scientific journal of the Faculty of Law at Universidade Lusófona, invites the submission of papers for its Special Issue of December 2026, dedicated to the theme “Law, Nature and the Environment.”
This issue aims to promote critical, interdisciplinary, and comparative legal research on the profound transformations shaping the relationship between law, nature, sovereignty, and democracy. As environmental degradation, climate change, and ecological crises intensify, legal systems worldwide are being challenged to rethink fundamental concepts such as legal personality, rights, jurisdiction, responsibility, and governance.
This special issue seeks to explore how the law responds to these challenges, particularly in light of emerging ecological paradigms.
