Open Lecture - Administrative Offences in Brazilian Law: From Criminal Misdemeanours to Corporate Sanctions for Acts of Corruption

12th of june 2026

CEAD Francisco Suárez will host the Open Lecture “Administrative Offences in Brazilian Law: From Criminal Misdemeanours to Corporate Sanctions for Acts of Corruption” on June 12, 2026, at 2:30 p.m., in Room C 1.1.

The session will feature Professor Beatriz Corrêa Camargo, a specialist in Criminal Law whose research focuses on the relationship between administrative sanctioning offences, criminal misdemeanours, and mechanisms for holding companies liable for acts of corruption.

This Open Lecture aims to foster reflection on the evolution of the Brazilian sanctioning system, examining the path from traditional criminal misdemeanours to current models of administrative and corporate liability in the context of combating corruption. The event will also encourage academic debate on the boundaries between Criminal Law and Administrative Sanctioning Law, a topic of growing relevance in contemporary legal systems.

The initiative is intended for students, researchers, academics, and legal professionals interested in the transformations of sanctioning systems and the legal challenges surrounding corporate liability.
