CEAD invites the entire academic community and the general public to take part in another session of the Lecture Series “Evidence, Truth and Legality”, which will take place on November 26, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., in Room C.1.1.
This session will feature Dr. Rui Ferreira da Silva, Lawyer and Master in Business Legal Sciences from Universidade Lusófona do Porto (ULP), who will present the topic: “The Interference in Telecommunications and Other Means of Communication by Public Authorities: The Case of the Competition Authority and Trade Secrets.”
The lecture will address the tensions between the investigative duties of public authorities and the protection of fundamental rights to communication privacy and business secrecy, offering a critical reflection on the limits of legality and proportionality in oversight practices.
This Open Lecture is part of the “Evidence, Truth and Legality” Cycle, promoted by the CEAD Francisco Suárez, aiming to foster debate and interdisciplinary research on the contemporary challenges of legal evidence and the action of public authorities.
