Mercedes Uceda

Mercedes Yela Uceda has been a visiting professor at Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid, Spain, since 2017, teaching various subjects such as Criminal Law, International Criminal Law, and Gender Violence, among others. She has published a monograph and numerous works on gender violence, illicit trafficking of migrants, and the institution of refuge. She holds academic qualifications, having graduated in Criminology and Law, obtained a Master's in Criminal Justice (Criminal and Procedural Law), and earned a Master's in Advocacy. Additionally, she holds a Doctorate in Law from Rey Juan Carlos University. Her doctoral thesis, titled "The Protection of the Rights of Refugees from the Perspective of International Criminal Law," received the qualification of "sobresaliente cum laude."

Her Research Stay will take place from January 20, 2024, to September 2, 2024, and will focus on various themes, including gender violence, migrations, human trafficking, and terrorism.

Her mentor during the Research Stay is Professor Dr. Inês Fernandes Godinho.
