Call for proposals 2021 – Protect and promote the rights of the child

Objectives

This call for proposals will contribute to responding to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, by promoting ways to mainstream and embed children’s rights in the responses to this and any other emergency situations. In parallel, it will promote gender-sensitive responses to the different needs of children following from or heightened by the Covid-19 pandemic. It will also contribute to the implementation of the actions put forward by the EU Strategy on the rights of the child.

Actions

  • evaluating lessons learned from Covid-19 situation in the context of its impact on children’s rights, providing recommendation for mainstreaming rights of the child and putting children’s rights and needs at the centre of policy responses in emergency situations at national and/or local level and taking gender-specific aspects into account;
  • Surveys, consultations, focus groups and other type of online and offline (if possible) meetings ensuring that children to participate in the assessment of the impact of the pandemic
  • Analysis of the input received from children,
  • Development of new projects, initiatives for children that takes into account the needs and opinions of children expressed during the consultations
  • Capacity building, training activities, information campaigns for relevant local authorities and increasing their awareness about children’s rights and needs,
  • In cooperation with children, designing, establishing and/or strengthening protocols and mechanisms providing support to children mostly affected by the Covid-19 situation;

European community funding

The Community provisional funding available for the call for proposals is:

  • 2,16 Million EUR (Global Budget)
