Elisabete Castela holds a Law degree from the Faculty of Law at the University of Lisbon. She has postgraduate qualifications in Data Protection Law from the School of Law at the Porto Campus of the Catholic University and in Hospital Administration from the School of Public Health.
She is a hospital administrator and currently serves as the Data Protection Officer at the Local Health Unit of Santo António, E.P.E., with CIPM and CIPP/E certifications from the International Association of Privacy Professionals and ECPC-B and ECPC-M certifications from the European Centre on Privacy and Cybersecurity at Maastricht University.
Additionally, she is the president of the Health Data Protection Association.
