José Domingues

JOSÉ DOMINGUES is Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of Lusófona University and a researcher at the Centre for Advanced Legal Studies – Francisco Suárez (CEAD-FS), where his research focuses on Legal History, Constitutional History, Constitutional Law, and Portuguese Electoral Law. He graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University in 1996 and obtained his PhD in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Santiago de Compostela in 2008, with a dissertation entitled The Afonsine Ordinances: Three Centuries of Medieval Law (1211–1512). He is a member of the International Commission for the History of Representative and Parliamentary Institutions (ICHRPI), a member of the Editorial Board of In Itinere Publishing, University of Oviedo, and a member of the Editorial Board of Glossae: European Journal of Legal History. He is the author of several books and scholarly studies in the fields of Legal History, Constitutional History, and Electoral Law.
