Open Lecture - Death Damage: Compensation for Non-Pecuniary Loss in Light of the Evolution of the Concept of Family

14th of april 2026

CEAD Francisco Suárez will host, on 14 April 2026 at 3:30 p.m., an Open Lecture entitled “Death Damage: Compensation for Non-Pecuniary Loss in Light of the Evolution of the Concept of Family.”

The session will take place in Room 2.4 of the Faculty of Law and Political Science and will feature the participation of Bruno Bom Ferreira, Judge and PhD in Civil Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra.

The initiative aims to promote reflection on the jurisprudential and doctrinal developments concerning compensation for non-pecuniary damage resulting from death, particularly in light of the transformations in the legal concept of family. The lecture will therefore provide an opportunity to discuss highly relevant issues in the field of civil law and tort law, bringing together students, academics, and legal practitioners.

Participation is open to the academic community and to all those interested in the topic.
