The CEAD Francisco Suárez is organizing the International Seminar – Current Challenges of Criminal Evidence, which will take place on 24 February 2026, at 2:00 p.m., in Room No. 1.10.
In line with the current context of the evolution of evidentiary law in criminal matters, the event aims to address some of the most relevant challenges in this field, creating a space for academic and practical reflection on key issues of criminal evidence today. The seminar will focus, in particular, on the proof of intent (mens rea) and the difficulties associated with it, the production of evidence by private parties and its limits within criminal proceedings, the growing relevance of digital evidence and the technical and legal challenges it entails, as well as the contribution of the psychology of testimony to the assessment of evidence.
This International Seminar aims to promote critical and interdisciplinary debate among researchers, academics, judges, lawyers, and students, contributing to a better understanding of current issues in criminal evidence and to the development of well-grounded legal solutions.
