CEAD Francisco Suárez announces the holding of the 3rd International Congress on Domestic Violence and the Istanbul Convention, which will take place on April 29 and 30, 2026.
This event, of high academic and social relevance, is organized by CEAD Francisco Suárez in collaboration with the Faculty of Law of Universidade Lusófona, and also benefits from the partnership of the OCEAN network and the Lisbon Regional Council of the Portuguese Bar Association.
The Congress aims to serve as a privileged forum for reflection, debate, and the sharing of knowledge on the issue of domestic violence, in light of contemporary challenges and the implementation of the Istanbul Convention. It will bring together national and international experts from the fields of law, criminology, psychology, and public policy, promoting a multidisciplinary approach to a phenomenon with significant social impact.
Over the course of two days, key topics will be discussed, such as the prevention of violence, the protection of victims, the effectiveness of existing legal instruments, and the role of institutions in promoting a more just and secure society.
