Vítor Hugo Dias holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Licenciatura) in Law, a Postgraduate Degree in Criminology and Criminal Investigation, a Master’s Degree in Forensic Legal Sciences, and is currently a PhD Candidate in Law (specializing in Criminal Law). He has also completed other specialized training courses, such as EU Data Protection (with a focus on the healthcare sector) and advanced training in Preventing and Combating Money Laundering in the Real Estate Sector.
He is a Professor at the Faculty of Law of Universidade Lusófona de Lisboa and an Associate Researcher at the Francisco Suárez Center for Advanced Studies in Law.
Additionally, he is a practicing Attorney (Advogado) registered with the Portuguese Bar Association. Within the scope of his legal practice, he has been invited since 2024 to draft the Criminal Procedural Practice Bar Association Admission Exams (Provas de Agregação de Prática Processual Penal), as well as to provide training at the COFRE (Funcionários e Agentes do Estado) on the General Regime for Corruption Prevention and the Whistleblower Protection Regime.
At the Faculty, he teaches the practical components of Criminal Procedural Law (I and II), Special Criminal Law, Public International Law, and European Union Law. He serves as an International Co-Coordinator and was elected as a member of the Pedagogical Council for the 2022-2024 biennium. Previously, he was part of the University's Legal Department.
