Sérgio Vieira da Silva
Sérgio Vieira da Silva holds a degree in History from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon (1984) and a PhD in Political Science (International Relations) from the Catholic University of Louvain - Louvain-la-Neuve (2006). He began his teaching career in 1986 at the International and Lusíada Universities of Lisbon (1986-2011), and also taught at the Lusíada University of Porto (1992-2000). An Associate Professor at Lusófona University, he is also the Director of the Bachelor's Degree in Internal Security Studies, which he created and implemented (2009). Among his publications, the following stand out: Introduction to International Relations (1st edition), Politics and Power in Southern Africa (1974-1989), Reflections on Latin America and the Caribbean (co-organized with Fernando Campos), Security in Urban Spaces (co-organized with José António Carochinho), as well as several articles in the areas of International Relations, Political Science, and Security. His areas of interest include, in addition to international issues, the relationship between public and private security, and currently, the "coexistence" between International Law and International Relations.
