Nuno Magalhães

Nuno Magalhães holds a degree in Law and has been an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law of Lusófona University in Lisbon since 2011, where he teaches courses in Political Science and Constitutional Law, European Law, and Public International Law. He has been a practicing lawyer since 1998 and currently serves as a legal consultant at CLA-Castro Caldas, Correia Lopes, Mendes de Almeida, Associados. He was the President of the CDS-PP parliamentary group (2011-2019) and served as a Member of Parliament in the Assembly of the Republic, where he was a member of the committees on Constitutional Affairs, Rights, Freedoms and Guarantees; Foreign Affairs and Portuguese Communities; European Affairs; Economy, Innovation, and Public Works; Health; and Ethics and Culture (2005-2019). He also served as Secretary of State for Internal Administration, overseeing the Foreigners and Borders Service, the organization and management of the security system for the European Football Championship (Euro 2004) and the 2005 UEFA Cup final, the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Internal Administration, particularly in the area of private security, the Directorate-General of Traffic, the Technical Support Service for the Electoral Process, and Legal Audit (2002-2005).
