Maria Inês Gameiro holds a PhD in Law from the Faculty of Law of the New University of Lisbon, a Master’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from the Portuguese Catholic University and a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. Throughout her academic career, she was a lecturer at ISCTE-IUL and at the Faculty of Law of the New University of Lisbon, and a researcher at Dinâmia-CET/ISCTE-IUL, at CEDIS-Faculty of Law of the New University of Lisbon and at CIMA-Center for Marine and Environmental Research of the University of Algarve. She is currently a Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Lusófona University of Lisbon. She is an elected member of the World Commission on Environmental Law of the IUCN – International Union for Conservation of Nature. She is an organizer and speaker in several courses and conferences and author of publications in the areas of public international law, European law and administrative law, with special focus on the sea, food, biotechnologies and sustainability.
