João Vieira dos Santos is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law at Lusófona University – Lisbon University Center. He earned his Ph.D. in Law from the Faculty of Law at the University of Porto, having received a unanimous approval in the academic examinations for his thesis on regulation of forms of FinTech business financing with a special focus on crowdfunding and initial coin offerings.
Since May 2018, he has been working as a jurist at CMVM (Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários), the Portuguese Securities Market Commission. Currently, he is a member of the Strategic Analysis and Communication Office at CMVM, focusing on the area of financial innovation.
