Camila Iglesias
Camila Fernandes Iglesias de Oliveira Diniz holds a PhD and a Master’s degree in Criminology from the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto. She is a university lecturer and researcher in Criminology at the Faculty of Law of Universidade Lusófona de Lisboa, specializing in the fields of victimology, gender-based violence, equality, intersectionality, hate speech/hate crimes, risk assessment, and prevention.
She is also an affiliated researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Gender Studies (CIEG-ISCSP) at the University of Lisbon and a volunteer at the Women’s Association Alternative and Response (UMAR), where she currently takes part in the teams of the National Study on Dating Violence and the UMAR Observatory of Women Murdered. She is also a member of the Portuguese group of the European Observatory on Femicide (EOF).
In recent years, she has collaborated on several national and international research projects with competitive funding, mainly in the field of violence against women and victimization, with particular emphasis on studies on intimate partner violence, domestic violence, femicide, and manifestations/hate crimes.
