Research Lines
State, International Society, Human Action
Law, Political Science, International Relations and Political Economy belongs to the same branch of the science that has as its common purpose the study of humankind, as a being socially framed by norms, rules, procedures and standards of behavior. If, historically, Political Philosophy and Law coexisted intimately and for a long time, Economics, as a Classic Political Economy that studies human action, and International Relations, seen as the analysis of International Society and the behavior of its subjects, only very recently became autonomous from these other two areas of knowledge, with which they were confused until recently. Today, many of the areas they are dedicated to are common, or related, and thematic overlaps are frequent, necessary and useful, despite the unequivocal pluridisciplinarity and ontological and methodological specificity of each of these sciences.
The line of research in State, International Society, Human Action fits into these fields of knowledge, viewing them from a humanist perspective, considering Law, International Relations and Economy as a product resulting from cooperative human action, which presupposes them. Therefore, it will be in the domains of the city, the international order and the lato sensu market (local, regional, or global) that the scientific research work of those who dedicate themselves to it will be carried out. From this perspective, the themes to be deepened will be able to cover, and interconnect, the Theory of the State, the History of Political Ideas, Society and International Law, Political Theory and History, Political and Constitutional Law, Political Economy, International Organizations , the European Union, Transnational Constitutionalism, Diplomacy, the new concepts of State and Sovereignty, Globalization, European Citizenship and the new fundamental rights related to it, among other themes that, at any moment, may be contributed by CEAD researchers interested in them.
